May 8, 1947 – December 20, 2024
Layton — Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Michael “Mike”
Anderson, died in his home on December 20, 2024, shortly after a cancer diagnosis.
The youngest of 4 children, he was born on May 8, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, to Byron
and Dorothy Anderson. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1965 and served 9 years as a military reservist
and guardsman. He dedicated 35 years as a civil engineer at Hill Air Force Base. After retiring he became a
school bus driver for 16 years. His loyal and dependable nature secured life long friends at both jobs. His
thrill was driving his own grandkids on school routes and field trips.
Mike was sealed to Pamela Afton Judd on November 10, 1966 and was married for
more than 40 years after which they parted as friends. Their shared life brought them four children whom he
considered life’s greatest treasure: Kimberly Michelle Staples (Joe), Aimee Louise Fellows (Chad), Karen Lyn
Garff (Brad), and Michael Judd Anderson. He is survived by two sisters, Sharon Wheelwright and Jean Williamson,
his children, 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his
brother, Arden Anderson, a granddaughter, Maya Michelle Staples, and his little dog, Sugar.
Mike found joy in hunting and fishing. As a member of The LDS Church he served in
various callings. He was constantly serving his family and was a loved friend. He will be greatly
missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the
LDS church, 3161 W 150 N, Layton, where friends and family may gather from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the
service.
