Paula Marie Brooks, 77, of Ogden passed away in her home on November 29, 2023. She was born on November
7, 1946 in Ogden, Utah to Cloyd DeMar Blain and Verda (Clifford) Blain. She married the love of her life,
Allen Brooks on January 16, 1970 in the Salt Lake, Utah LDS temple.
She
grew up surrounded by love and warmth, cultivating the values that would define her life. Her kind and
nurturing spirit endeared her to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She graduated from Ogden High
School in 1965. She attended a year of college after high school before beginning full-time work. She continued
to learn in her life, reading everything she could, including the newspaper. She instilled a love of the
library and learning in her children.
Paula
was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many different capacities
and callings in her ward, most recently on a senior mission in their stake in Ogden with her beloved husband,
Allen.
As a
devoted wife, mother, and friend, Paula poured her heart into creating a home filled with love and
understanding. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her nurturing spirit and
boundless kindness created a sanctuary for family and friends alike. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her
friendships were built on a foundation of trust and understanding. The bonds she forged with others will endure
as a testament to the beautiful soul she was.
Paula
found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love of nature and her passion for art brought color and
vibrancy to our home. She had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, leaving
an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of sharing those moments with her.
Though
we grieve the loss of Paula, let us also celebrate the extraordinary woman she was and the profound impact she
had on our lives. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration, guiding us with the same love,
strength, and grace she shared throughout her life.
Paula
is survived by her children; one son: Brandon (Emilee), Clearfield, Utah; one daughter: Jayna (Alan) Gerber,
West Point, Utah; grandchildren: Vaughn, Marshall, Weiss and Bristow Brooks and Benjamin Gerber; one sister:
Cindy (Verlin) Smith and one brother: Joe (Karen) Blain; and many nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by both of her parents, Cloyd and Verda Blain and her husband, Allen.
Thanks
to all who have shown such great love to both of our parents over these past few difficult years and to the
many friends and neighbors who have always been there for them when called upon.
