Harriet Steward
Harriet Carol Steward
Hodgson, 78, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, peacefully returned home on
Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Born on December 19,
1946, in Indian Valley, Idaho, to Fannie Ruth Phillips Steward and Harry Ludwig Steward. Harriet graduated from
Ogden High School. On September 16, 1965, she was sealed to Robert Leslie Hodgson in the Salt Lake City LDS
Temple, beginning a lifelong partnership.
Harriet devoted much of
her life to service. As the mother of six children, she earned her LPN while attending Utah State University.
She worked for over 17 years at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, providing compassionate service for patients. A
devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Harriet served in a variety of callings,
including Young Women’s President, Stake Young Women’s Sports Coordinator, and, for the last 12 years, as a
beloved temple worker alongside her husband. Serving in the temple was one of her greatest joys.
Sports held a special
place in Harriet's heart, and she was an enthusiastic fan of BYU Cougars football, basketball, and other sports.
Like her mother before her, Harriet was an exceptionally skilled seamstress and loved to embroider. She found
joy in reading and especially in watching her grandchildren participate in various activities. She took immense
pride in their accomplishments and was their biggest cheerleader.
Harriet’s unwavering
faith and deep love for the gospel left an indelible mark on her children and grandchildren. Her example of
devotion, love, and service will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come. They are
forever grateful for the beautiful legacy she has left behind.
Harriet is survived by
her husband; Robert Leslie Hodgson, her five children; Heidi Brooks (Stevin), Holli Andreason (John), Darryn
Hodgson (Mandy), Jennifer Hubbard (Brent), Joshua Hodgson (Michelle), 21 grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death
by a daughter Lindsay Shannon.
